§ 15-9. Obstructing streets generally.

  • It shall be unlawful for anyone to obstruct any street, lane, alley, sidewalk or public square, by any porch, steps, fence or other obstruction or nuisance whatever. The city shall have all such obstructions or nuisances removed by serving written notice upon the owner or occupant of the premises, and the party so obstructing, and on failure to comply with such notice, after twenty-four (24) hours, the parties shall be punished as prescribed in section 1-12 and the board of commissioners shall have the same removed at the expense of the owner or occupant or party obstructing and execution shall issue therefor.
